I have been very busy with my college work for five weeks。 But I still squeezed out two hours doing a volunteer job in UC Merced Vegetable Garden on this Chinese New Year’s Eve。 It’s the first time for our volunteer work in 2021， and the vegetables we planted a few months ago were growing up and getting old。 The students didn’t eat so much， we needed to take them out and empty the boxes for new vegetables。 It was just a big waste。 But I think I got a lot of good omens for the new year， I took some vegetables home for Chinese New Year。 In Chinese， we call vegetables “菜Cai” which is pronounced the same as “財Cai” meaning wealth， lots of money。 I took lots of broccoli home， which we call “花菜hua cai” in Chinese and is pronounced similarly to “發財fa cai” ， meaning money is on the way。 Haha Happy Chinese New Year Gongxi Facai ［Packet］［Sun］［Blessing］［Rich］［Rich］［Rich］

我這段時間一直忙學校作業，但是我今天上午還是擠出時間去做了兩個小時的義工。沒想到今天要把幾個月前種的菜拔掉，因為學生沒吃多少，現在已經長老了，我們要清理菜圃種新的蔬菜。簡直是太浪費了！但是今天已經是國內的除夕了，我感覺2021年第一次做義工就來收菜（財），真是個好兆頭啊［Sun］我帶了一些回家，其中有很多是我喜歡吃的花菜，廣東話話就是“發財”恭喜發財！祝所有的朋友新年快樂！財源滾滾而來！健康平安！吉祥如意！萬事順利！［Sun］［Packet］［Blessing］［Blessing］［Blessing］［Rich］［Rich］［Rich］
